Creating an Apparatus to Engage The Leadership Trust’s Alumni

The Client:

For more than forty years, The Leadership Trust has been at the forefront when it comes to developing high impact, unique approaches in leadership development.  With an impressive network of more than 50,000 alumni The Leadership Trust has been a driving force in the vocational development of businesses, sports organisations, and charities.

This coupled with its expansive global outreach from Aberdeen to Abu Dhabi, and Seattle to Sri Lanka, The Leadership Trust is the go-to organisation to transform individuals, teams and organisations across the globe.

With an ethos planted in UK Special Forces, founder David Gilbert-Smith, a former Special Air Service Officer successfully applied the leadership lessons learnt in the military with expert input in behavioural psychology and specialists in leadership development to create a pioneering enterprise nurturing leadership in a multitude of organisations.

The Challenge

Constant news and forward-thinking practices are developed with the leadership development sector on a regular basis. In order to maintain and enhance The Leadership Trust’s success it was vital it was informing its clients and customers on these new developments as soon as possible.

The Solution

In order to reach The Leadership Trust’s global clientele and expand its audience we provided up to the minute, reactive blogging on new developments in leadership strategies. Specifically, we implemented an ongoing blogging stratagem for its website starting in 2015 with further blogs being rolled out onto LinkedIn Pulse in 2016, whilst leveraging the original content to populate the bi-monthly digital magazine– “LTFocus

Indeed, we recognised that social media was integral to communicating and sharing the best practices around the globe by keeping channels openintegrating with sales teams and suggesting business development strategies over platforms such as LinkedIn. In addition, we facilitated a series of html newsletters to update The Leadership Trust’s growing audience.

Furthermore, it was imperative that a sound SEO strategy was put in place. That was why, when redesigning its website through the creation of content and design, SEO played a central role in ensuring that The Leadership Trust reached its target audience. Additionally, to make its website more accessible and interactive we created the facilities page so course bookings can be easily made

In order to keep up with a growing alumni audience and outreach to key stakeholders we also supported brand communications through PR as well as social communications, e-marketing, web services, and database services, whilst delivering a new set of printed marketing literature designed in a folder providing fact sheets to achieve both simplicity and print economy, inevitably for when reprints or amendments needed to be made.

The Results

  • Enabled The Leadership Trust to spearhead the leadership development sector.
  • Increased its social media following on LinkedIn
  • Created an easy, accessible, and interactive website to entice a larger audience
  • Facilitated the necessary resources to update a global alumnus on progressions in the leadership development sector.
