Robert Pouget’s lifelong passion for painting took root during his school years in England, particularly at Uppingham School, where he first explored illustration. Born at Chateau St Victor on the eve of the Second World War, Robert moved to Paris when the family estate was requisitioned. His education continued in England, and his summers were spent between Paris and the scenic Chateau de Bellefontaine, where his early interest in the arts blossomed. This enthusiasm was further nurtured at the Art Students League in New York.

After serving in the Infanterie de Marine in Agen and Algeria, Robert returned to Paris, establishing himself as a freelance artist before later becoming an Art Director in England. Following diverse pursuits—including producing films and creating the iconic Oxford Blue cheese—he has, in his eighties, returned to painting and illustration, reconnecting with the art that has always been his true calling.
