The Gloucestershire Regiment Memorial was unveiled on 25th September 2024 and it stands proudly within the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, honouring 300 years of exceptional service by the Gloucestershire Regiment from 1694 to 1994. While Gloucestershire is home to other commemorative landmarks—including the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum—this is the first and only memorial to fully represent the regiment’s remarkable legacy of courage, sacrifice, and dedication to Crown and Country. Witnessed by over 300 veterans and supporters at its unveiling, the memorial is both a tribute to the regiment’s past and a beacon for future generations. Raised largely through private donations totalling over £70,000—much of it within a year—it reflects the enduring pride and respect held by those who served and those who remember what it means to be a ‘Gloster’.
